I can’t think of a single run that I’ve been on where that one question hasn’t popped into my head.
“Why am I doing this?”
How is it that I even make it out of the door? I’ve come up with thousands of reasons not to run.
Yet, I still find myself outside putting on some more miles.
The question of why is one that I believe has no single answer to it. I always thought that I ran to train but realized not too long ago that that was a lie.
During a meetup with an old friend of mine recently, I asked the question, “How’s training going?” With a puzzled look on his face he answered, “Train? We don’t train. We run.”
We run. That’s it. We all run for our own personal reasons. It doesn't matter what it is as long as you’re happy while doing it.
Beer Soaked was put together to help people realize why they enjoy running. No matter the reason. Unless it’s midget tossing.
We’re not cool with that.
Seriously though we put on fun runs. Not serious competitive runs, just simple laid back ones that you can have a fun time at.
If you’re looking for a reason to run, maybe we can help. Or maybe not, but in the end you’ll probably be tipsy enough to believe you’re having fun.
Thanks again for everything and to everyone,
BS
P.S. Group runs and new events coming soon. Look forward to the 3 Mile/6 Pack and The Slowest Mile and as always, let us know if you have any other great ideas for runs!
Also, BS was recently out at the Cactus to Cloud 50k. It was fucking awesome. If you’re looking for a run where you might possibly meet god or dehydration, that is it. One of the best 50k’s we have seen so far in this region.

- It’s hot outside.
- I’m tired.
- I went for a run yesterday.
- I’m busy.
- A new season of New Girl just popped up on Netflix (of course that one never happens).
