So it’s been two months since we started this little shin dig and we’re looking forward to another two
months. The support and encouragement we have received from the local community and some out-of-
staters has been tremendous. The two vertical beer miles that we put on went off without any hitches and had a huge attendance which wasn't what we expected.
Honestly, when we first started this thing, we had no idea what to expect. Hell, we only thought five
people max would show up to the vertical beer miles. But you all proved us wrong and for that we
greatly thank you.
Our group has always been about helping people find out why they enjoy running. And it’s not an easy
thing to do. To be fair, we hate the absolute idea of running. To run and only run, sounds awful.
We believe that there are so many different ways you can make running enjoyable and if you can find
your way, well… running becomes fun (hard to believe for some people, I know).
We always try to make our runs as exciting as possible.
Dirt hill… Climb it.
Gulley… Jump it.
Culvert… Crawl through it.
Bushes… Weave through them.
Water hole… Swim through it.
Beer… Drink it.
Buddy… Run with them.
We always try to make our runs interesting with or without beer (though preferably with).
Beer Soaked likes to pride itself on drinking while running but it’s not the most important aspect.
Drinking a beer while running was an idea that proved to be incredibly exciting to us. It made our runs
even more fun. It opened our minds to the belief that runs didn’t always have to be JUST RUNNING.
We believe that so many people would love running if it wasn’t for the preconceived idea that running
needs to be this hour long sprint followed by puking your brains out. Beer Soaked wants to show people
that there are many different ways to make running enjoyable and to hell with the people that say otherwise.
Learn what makes running enjoyable for you and embrace it (even if it’s not beer). If it gets you outside
doing something, that’s all that matters.
On a less serious note… Beer Soaked is planning on more events!
Look forward to a New Vertical Beer Mile at a new hill here in Las Cruces. We are currently in the
testing phases and working out the details but it’s step two towards our 3 step program to dominate the
world.
Kidding, but it is our second step towards the Las Cruces Triple Vertical Beer Mile Challenge! Still
working on the name.
We’re also in the planning process for a 5k sometime here soon that will not only test your beer drinking
ability but your ingenuity as well.
And last but not least, stay tuned for more details about our “ULTRA SCAVENGER HUNT”. Still top secret
stuff but expect a day’s worth of adventure.
Well, thanks for tuning in everyone. We look forward to seeing you out sometime. Feel free to message
us if you ever want to join us on a run sometime. The more, the merrier.
Once again, Thanks to everyone,
